Latest Goings on in Academia

Well, now in Week 3 of University Study and I can honestly say the work is beginning to pile up. Its a bit of a psychological fight though... one moment it feels unsettling but then the next all is good.

Having reflected over the last week again on my decision to study at University, I find myself with no regrets at all and firmly believe it was a smart move considering that many IT Trainers I know are either now out of work or are working, but for lower rates which barely pay the expenses bills.

The subjects I am studying however are proving to be interesting... I never thought of accounting as being an interesting topic, but after getting into it a bit, I have found it surprisingly interesting! Ok,  its just one small part of my degree, but good none the less. The added benefit here is the additional skills I am learning which would also be very useful in day to day life.

On the flip side, one of our Computing lecturers, (as a nice a guy as he is)... unfortunately seems to lack organisational skills... we must have half of the lecture this morning sitting doing nothing whilst he attempted to locate an example of what he was saying... being true in IT form... he blamed the computer... which incidentally was an Apple Mac Book Pro... which goes along with my already abysmal opinion of Apple...
Either way, several of us were not really impressed with this lecture... especially as some slides of the power point were simply skimmed over faster than light...

Oh well, another fun filled day, enjoying a quick pint of Wherry Ale in the Union Bar before meeting with a fellow student to talk about tomorrow's seminar. Hope to be away from University tonight at about 6ish.

I think it's far less the Apple and far more a lack of ability to file manage...I can always find what I want on my Mac!

Btw me and Jo are back for a few days in half term (Sunday till Thursday) so if you fancy lunch one day that would be cool
