So perhaps this is good news indeed, that Pastor Terry has come to his sense... although placing something on hold is not the same as calling off or cancelling...
Well, it's not going ahead tomorrow though, but unfortunately the damage has already been done... having spoken to a couple of Muslims friends yesterday, we found a common ground in solidarity in denouncing this act... as a Christian I fail to see how this fellowship in America represents Christian values through acts such as this... my Muslim friends stated that the extreme Islam groups such as Al Qaeda and the Taliban are in no ways representing Islam... they also said and I quote "our teaching is to be respectful of other people and their beliefs...". We spoke about our faiths very openly and in respect of each others and ended praying for them and once again decreeing that the majority of Christians stand in solidarity with them.
Unfortunately, acts such as this can offend as well as just upset... there are many pictures of showing protests around the world including burning of American flags. Its certainly got the politicians in a bit of a string... and the honest I can understand why especially as relations between the west and Islam are precariously fragile enough... yes, yes, I know it takes two to tango and extreme Islam is no better... I'm sure the majority of Islam would agree with this... but I find myself in total agreement with Barrack Obama when he says "it would be a recruitment bonanza for Al-Qaeda".
Just the thought of this act has caused a world wide upset... irrelevant of whether it goes ahead or not. Its a typical case of "think before do"...
Lets hope this act gets "cancelled" and not left "on hold".
